WE ARE REIMAGINING
WHAT IT MEANS
TO LEARN.

“In an ever-changing world, where predictability is far more elusive, the importance of knowing oneself and believing in one’s capacity to handle new situations has never been more important. Learning is about the process, not the product. Far beyond acquiring content in specific disciplines, possessing the tools and skills to be responsive to change and the ability to be flexible as one adapts is paramount.”

“On behalf of the Board of Governors, I am pleased to introduce Strategic Plan 2025. This framework will help us take aim at the challenges, put a spotlight on the opportunities, and draw on the strengths of our community throughout the next five years and beyond. We believe that our strategic plan is very much aligned with the future of education and we are eager to reimagine what it means to really learn.”

Our Vision

At St. Clement’s School, we are evolving and redefining what it means to really learn and thrive in a world where the only certainty is change. We don’t just want our students to thrive, we want them to boldly thrive – to see disruption as opportunity and possibility, to seize change with agility and imagination, to tackle the complex world of tomorrow with confidence and character. Our learners will flourish because they are empowered by purpose and the ability to see themselves as agents of change, challenged by the unknown, challenged to architect their own self-sustaining journeys.

We’re taking a leadership role in learning so our learners will lead an ever-changing world. How? Their educational journeys will be marked by academic rigour and a renewed curriculum that continually challenges and assesses the act of learning itself in an inclusive and safe environment. Students will value learning as an outcome in itself, understanding it’s about the success of the journey, not just the destination.

This is the very essence of our new Strategic Plan 2025.

Our Framework

We're launching our new Strategic Plan. The following framework is the result of our strategic planning process towards realizing our bold new vision. It highlights our goals and how we plan to powerfully evolve learning at St. Clement’s while preserving our fundamental values and commitments.

HOW WE PLAN TO ACHIEVE THIS

Commit to develop learners: Ensure curricular and co-curricular experiences challenge students to value learning as an outcome in itself.

Provide individual attention to students: Help students navigate their personal learning journey and understand their strengths.

Foster an inclusive and safe environment: empower students to engage in and contribute to a community in which everyone feels known and valued.

Equip students to manage their self-development: Provide resources and tools to cultivate self-awareness and support holistic development.

WHAT CAPABILITIES MUST BE IN PLACE

Operational effectiveness: Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination of efforts and delegation of decision-making.

Elevated engagement practices: Establish a communication plan that promotes clarity and involves feedback from all stakeholders.

Innovative and exemplary teaching and programming: Establish clear guidelines to adapt instruction and experiences to emphasize learning as an outcome.

Robust staff development: Support staff by ensuring they have the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to support the strategy. Ongoing environmental scans: Ongoing integrated research, data collection and evaluation processes used to inform progress and direction.

Our Focus & Commitment

We wish to develop compassionate, courageous, curious and evolving learners from the Greater Toronto Area, focusing on increasing accessibility to create a more diverse environment.

We aim to engage parents (and students) who trust in, and understand, our approach; we commit to be agile and adaptable in the environment within which we operate.

“What does it mean to “reimagine” learning? Historically, learning has been defined as the acquisition of knowledge and skills; but, this has shifted over time. Deep learning means going well beyond the acquisition of surface skills and knowledge. To thrive in today’s world, people need to embrace the messiness of learning, they need to think creatively and critically and apply their learning to authentic issues. It sounds simple, but schools can be slow to change. This strategic plan is about having the courage and imagination to embrace the complexities of what it means to learn deeply.”
